Children and Families
The impact of loss and death on families can be profound and long-lasting. Our work with families and children is focused on protection, empowerment, and long-term resilience through educational group sessions/workshops.
Trauma, loss, and grief are interconnected experiences that can have a profound impact on individuals and families.
The Effects of trauma can lead to emotional, behavioral, and physical symptoms, including anxiety, depression, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Loss & Grief in children
At Sizakuyenza, we understand that children experience loss and grief in deeply personal ways that can affect their sense of safety, development, and wellbeing. Our specialised counselling service provides a safe and supportive space where children can express their feelings, process their experiences, and begin to heal.
Through our loss, grief and trauma programme, we provide children and families with the necessary tools to overcome loss, grief and trauma. HIV/ AIDS and GBV still affect many households, children struggle to adjust in schools and some present with behaviour challenges.
Other Activities
Loss & grief in children
At Sizakuyenza, we offer compassionate support through grief and trauma workshops designed to help children express their emotions, build resilience, and begin to heal. We walk alongside them, creating safe spaces where they are seen, heard, and supported on their journey toward hope and recovery.
teenage gilrs
We understand that the challenges facing our youth—like teenage pregnancy, peer pressure, substance abuse, and joining gangs—affect not just the young people themselves, but their families, schools, and communities too. Sizakuyenza provides workshops to guide teenage girls and empower them to make better choices.
Loss & grief in adults
Adults often carry emotional pain that impacts their health, behavior, and well-being. At Sizakuyenza, we support adults facing loss and grief—especially those affected by GBV, HIV, and substance abuse—through counseling, group sessions, and wellness workshops. We provide safe spaces for healing, emotional support, and recovery.
