At Sizakuyenza, we believe that every act of kindness has the power to change lives. This belief was beautifully affirmed when we recently welcomed a generous donation from Takealot, South Africa’s leading online retailer.
We were honored to receive their representative, Lilitha, who personally visited us to hand over the much-needed supplies. In her words, Takealot chose Philippi as the recipient of this donation because they recognize both the urgent challenges faced by our community and the resilience of its people.
The donation included toiletries, sanitary pads, baby nappies, baby clothes, and facial products for women — essentials that many of the women and children we support struggle to afford. These items will directly benefit survivors of gender-based violence and families in crisis who turn to Sizakuyenza for shelter, care, and support.
For many, what may seem like small everyday items actually restore dignity, provide relief, and bring comfort during a difficult journey of healing. To see the smiles on the faces of the women receiving these products reminded us of the importance of partnerships in our mission to create safe, supportive spaces.
